19 September 2014: Debating Society Holds Referendum Debate
On the eve of the most important vote in Scotland’s political history, the Dollar Academy Debating Society held a Referendum Debate in the School Assembly Hall on Wednesday 17 September.  The occasion gave eight pupils the opportunity to explore the manifold issues that define this momentous occasion.


18 September 2014: The Daily Telegraph Interviews Dollar Pupils During Big, Big Debate
On the evening of Thursday 11 September, Jim White, Chief Features Editor of The Daily Telegraph, arrived at Argyll House, with photographer and cameraman in tow.  These top journalists had requested to come to Dollar Academy in order to sit in the company of young Dollar pupils as they watched the Big, Big Debate being held in Glasgow’s SECC Hydro, being televised by the BBC.  


16 September 2014: Gavin Hay (FIII) Qualifies to Compete in The Horse of the Year Show 2014

Gavin Hay (FIII) will, in a few weeks’ time, be competing in The Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) 2014.  This prestigious equestrian event takes place at the NEC in Birmingham from October 8-12 and, it is fair to say, Gavin is fairly excited about being able to compete there, in the 143 cm Working Hunter Pony of the Year Final. 


16 September 2014: Dollar Academy Holds First Open Day

On Saturday 13 September, Dollar Academy opened its doors and welcomed hundreds of visitors to its grounds, buildings and classrooms.  It was the first event of its kind at the school and it was, by all accounts, a very well-received and successful day.


15 September 2014: Dollar Academy Pupil Achieves Swimming Success 

Keir Edgar (FII) had a very busy summer. This phrase, to describe one of Dollar Academy’s finest competitive swimmers, is quite an understatement. 


9 September 2014: Dollar Academy’s Class of 2027 Begins Prep 1
Just over two weeks ago, Dollar Academy’s Class of 2027 began Prep 1.  And, according to Mrs Barbour (Deputy Head of the Prep and Junior School), ‘They have had a most enjoyable first week at school.’ 



3 September 2014: ‘Get Active’ Co-Curricular Fair Takes Place in Assembly Hall

On Friday 29 August the annual ‘Get Active!’ Fair for the Senior School took place Period 3 in the Assembly Hall.
