Young Scientists Progress to National Finals in Science and Engineering Fair Competition
On Friday, 14 June, Aisla Gordon and Rachel Hubbard (both FIII) travelled to the SECC in Glasgow in order to present their Silver CREST project at the Big Bang Science and Engineering Fair. They were presenting, at this stage, for the regional competition. Both girls are to be congratulated for their efforts, as they came away having won Best Silver Project in Scotland.
Ms Sadia Hussain (Biology Teacher) accompanied them to Glasgow and said, ‘The Big Bang Fair is a fantastic opportunity for pupils to showcase all their hard work and be recognised by industry experts.’ The girls will go on to compete at the national final which will be held at the Birmingham NEC in March, 2014.
Rachel was delighted to have taken part in the fair and is already looking forward to the challenge to come, in 2014, ‘It is great to have won and I can’t wait for the competition in Birmingham.’
Elise Camilleri-Brennan and Ellie Mahoney (also FIII) impressed the judges as well, earning a place in the national competition in March.
