PUPILS' COMMENTS ON HEYWORTH

For me, having no sisters, I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as a boarder. I like being surrounded by my friends all the time. The boarding house is very homely, and I like how the houseparents are really involved in our lives.

"A very caring environment in which everyone of all ages and backgrounds blend in superbly."

I will look back at my time at Heyworth and laugh and smile. I have great memories of this place, its people and my friends.

"School takes an interest in you, looks out for you, you are important to them. The general system means that you are safe, happy and always know what to do if you have a problem. You feel part of a community."

We feel at home, comfortable and secure. People are always up for a good time, and there is always someone to chat to.

"Heyworth is very much a home to me: the girls are my sisters, not housemates."

Enjoyable and unique atmosphere. Always fun and someone to turn to. Never a lack of trips to cinema, meals, bowling and ice-skating. House facilities are now more up to date meaning more homely feel.

I like the girls. I like the house.

"What I like best about boarding is the affection and support among Heyworthers, the sense of togetherness and community."

"I enjoy boarding at Dollar and mixing with people from the other houses as well - there's always a sociable friendly atmosphere."

It is a very friendly atmosphere, it's really nice for me, because it feels if I have lots of sisters (I don't have any actually), but when I come to Heyworth I have 16 or 17, and i'ts really nice.

The trips are fun, like bowling, cinema or going for a meal.
