ACTIVITIES IN MCNABB HOUSE

At weekends there is plenty to amuse and entertain. Boys can use the school swimming pool on a Sunday afternoon, five -a - side football is a weekend staple while, in the summer term, the local golf club allows boys membership at extremely generous rates. All the other school facilities are available to boarders, of course, besides the various club activities that go on at weekends. House trips are varied and as regular as practicable. Twice a term we visit the cinema with a meal at Pizza Hut or McDonalds, shopping trips to Glasgow or Edinburgh are usually very popular while Christmas sees our annual pilgrimage to the pantomime. There are also several events in the year when the boarding houses come together for joint celebrations, most notably in early February when McNabb plays host to the senior girls for an evening of Karaoke and Dim Sum to celebrate Chinese New Year. This has developed into one of the major events in the boarding calendar and it is not until the wee small hours that the last singer is finally dragged away from the microphone.
