Form VI Boarders’ Wine Tasting

A group of Form VI boarders and selected “lucky” staff were introduced to the wonderful world of wine by Cara Wood last Friday night when the Captain’s Room played host to a new event in the boarding calendar. Cara, from Woodwinters Wine Merchants in Bridge of Allan, brought along a selection of Red, White, Rose, Desert and Champagne wines to taste. The complex process of wine production was explained along with the basic differences in grape varieties and wine regions. Some of the nuances of wine appreciation were highlighted and all those present agreed that education had never been so enjoyable. It is hoped that this event will become an annual occurrence and several of the boarders are already planning summer trips to some of the vineyards highlighted during the evening.
