Preparing the cakes...
On Monday 24th March the Charities Committee raised £730 with a day of combined events. The selling of chocolate flake cakes, made by members of the Committee, raised £130 and represented excellent value at just 50p per cake. The “Wear it Pink” day was also a great success, raising £500. Boys, girls and teachers throughout the Academy donated £1 for every pink garment they wore to raise awareness for breast cancer. Items ranged from ties and scarves to skinny pink jeans and leg warmers. Both of these events offered the whole school community the chance to get involved with the infectious enthusiasm of the Charities Committee.
