Retiming of Morning Journeys

Phase 1 – Rennies
Since the start of this term, it has been quite clear that all bus routes have been affected by traffic conditions resulting in late arrivals at the Academy in the mornings.

In order to make more certain the correct start time in class of 08:45, the operators of all buses coming to the Academy have been asked to retime their services to arrive at the Academy no later than 08:35.  The times of afternoon and evening services will not be affected.

As far as Rennies buses are concerned, because they are hired by the Academy, their retimings can be started quickly.  The other (public service) routes can only be started after approval has been obtained from the Traffic Commissioners; this may take until Christmas.

Thus, from Tuesday, October 23, 2007, the first day back after the Break, all morning Rennies bus services will start and, be at published stops, 10 minutes earlier than shown on the present bus timetable.

Additionally, it is planned that the Rennies service, which presently starts at Thomsons in Bruce Street, Dunfermline, will start at Tesco, Duloch Park and use the route Linburn Road and Halbeath Road to Bruce Street and hence as normal to the Academy.  The afternoon bus which presently terminates at Bruce Street will continue to Tesco, Duloch Park.
