Piobaireachd Competition

Ten year old Sandy Cameron (J2) has won the Scottish Schools Under 16 Piobaireachd Competition.  This year’s competition attracted the largest ever number of entrants, making Sandy’s success all the more impressive.

Sandy is currently playing an old set of Macpherson pipes, kindly donated to the school by Alasdair Moodie (FP). The instrument has attracted many favourable comments from the adjudicators, with remarks such as "outstanding tone" and  "a quality instrument" appearing on every critique sheet.  We are very grateful for Alasdair's donation and for the support of other Former Pupils, which allow our youngsters access to instruments of this high standard.
