14th December 2007: This morning’s assembly was halted by a pirate invasion.  As the Rector was making a very important announcement about the Aberdour buses, in stormed a horde of pirates.  Flinging pieces of eight to delighted pupils, Captain Sean Sarafilovic commanded the Rector to surrender control of the good ship ‘Dollar Academy’ to his swarthy crew.  The pirates brought with them unique treasure: copies of the Dollar Academy edition of ‘Treasure Island’.  The Rector was marched off stage at sword-point. The Jolly Roger is hoist above the Academy.  Pray for our souls…
