Junior School Maths Merry-Go-Round

Dollar Academy Junior school hosted a maths merry-go-round on Thursday 2nd February. 

The event was designed by the senior maths department and designed to stretch the mathematical ability of the youngsters.

The pupils  worked together in small teams, tackling a variety of mathematical problems and puzzles, which included timed maths problems, anagrams, word puzzles and a maths relay race. 

Sophie Ferguson, a Junior 2 pupil, commented:  “My favourite challenge was building cubes from foam pieces. I love puzzles like this -  they are slightly frustrating but also so addictive. I was really pleased with how my team did and I thought that we worked well together.  The morning was really good fun and also worthwhile”

Dollar Academy’s Prep, Junior and Senior schools are all located on a single campus.  The specialist senior teachers regularly support primary teaching, and help inspire the younger pupils across a broad range of subjects.
