A Mini Celebration of Robert Burns
Prep 5 joined together to celebrate Burns Day on 25th January. Everyone had practised a verse or two of their favourite poem by Robert Burns. ‘To a Mouse’, ‘Address to the Haggis’ and ‘My love is like a red, red rose’ were the most popular pieces of poetry. Jack McKenzie read his poem from an ancient book. It was over one hundred years old! We enjoyed listening to some of our friends playing their instruments. Gregor Stewart played ‘Auld Lang Syne’ on his bagpipes and we all sang along as we had practised the words for homework. The event made us feel very Scottish.
