Workshop hosted by Theresa Breslin

The renowned Scottish author Theresa Breslin, whose books for young people have won praise and prizes, recently headed up a creative writing workshop for our Advanced Higher English pupils. The focus of the session was her novel ‘Remembrance’, a poignant text which examines the impact of World War One on the lives of five young people.
After talking about the research she undertook, she then worked with the pupils to help them to compose their own responses to primary sources and objects from the War, including Officers’ diaries, shells and gas masks.
The workshop was productive and inspiring and will help the pupils enormously as they continue preparing their creative writing folios.
