HOME ECONOMICS

In Food Technology pupils learn, among many other things, the importance of hygiene and safety in a kitchen.  They practise handling sharp knives safely and efficiently and cook a selection of healthy recipes.  Handling information, teamwork and good organisational skills are also a very important aspect of the course.  The practical assessment consists of an unseen recipe which must be made in less than 1 hour.  The finished dish must be presented in an attractive manner.  For the pupils the best part of the assessment is evaluating the end product!
