Japanese Foreign Exchange

A group of Japanese Foreign Exchange students accompanied by their teachers and three of the hosts from Dollar Academy were given a traditional Scottish food demonstration in the Home Economics Department. Mrs Kean demonstrated how to make shortbread and the students then tasted mackerel pate, haggis, neeps and tatties, shortbread biscuits and strawberries. They had the opportunity to sample each dish made. This year the shortbread biscuits were much more popular than the haggis. Arisa Takahashi, a Form IV pupil, was a great help with translations when required.
