Cricket Brothers

In recent years, the Australian Cricket team has been famous for fielding the Waugh brothers. At Dollar this summer there is a strong possibility that the 1st X1 will be fielding three sets of brothers. The Weir brothers, the Ross brothers and the Torrance brothers have all been present at pre-season training from early October in preparation for the new season. Led by last year’s captain and Scotland U17 internationalist Matthew Bremner, this experienced side has a real chance of achieving great success in the summer term. On paper, this is the strongest Academy 1st X1  there has been in the last ten years and the arrival of Kevin Bostic, one of our Harry Bell scholars, has been a very useful addition to a side that is keen to ‘cut the mustard’ against other school teams and the MCC in our cricket fixture list. The recent acquisition of a new ‘Bola’ bowling machine, kindly donated by Mr. Robin Wight (FP), has greatly enhanced our pre season training and will get full use from the cricket club throughout the summer term.
