The Green Howards


Dollar 'A'

The Academy's shooting team enjoys continued success. The Green Howards Country Life Small Bore Shooting Competition is one of the UK’s most prestigious competitions, attracting over 150 entries and 750 individual competitors from all over the UK.It consists of four stages, each of which tests a variety of shooting skills.

Dollar ‘A’, consisting of Tarni Duhre, Alice Lamont, Katy Simpson, Joanna Carson (all Form VI), Jenny Waters, Eilidh Stewart, Jennifer McIntosh, Edward Currie and Ewan McConnell (all Form V) came first overall, bringing home this trophy for the first time in over ten years after dropping only 41 points over 1000.

Not only this, but Dollar ‘B’, consisting of Tom Richmond, Lewis Vanstone (both Form VI), Matthew Robson (Form V) Ewan Torrance, Gillian Brown, Tiernan Lean, Fraser Stewart, Sarah Silk, David Dick (all Form IV) and Rebecca Davis (Form III), was the highest placed B team coming a credible sixth overall, and winning a concurrent competition for B teams.

In the whole competition there were just people who didn’t drop a single point and Dollar claimed three of these: Tarni Duhre, Edward Currie and Fraser Stewart.
