Battlefields 2008

 

The History and Modern Studies Department is, once again, planning a trip to the Western Front Battlefields of the First World War. This trip is open to those pupils studying Standard Grade History, and who will be in Form IV in October 2008. This particular tour aims to enable the pupils to see for themselves the trenches where many of the great battles took place. In addition, the numerous museums we visit offer a huge range of experiences, whilst the cemeteries and monuments put the human cost of the conflict into sharp perspective. Over the last five years this trip has proven to be very popular as well as highly moving.  

 

This year’s party will depart, by coach, from the Academy on the evening of Tuesday 14th October 2008 and will spend four nights based in the Belgian town of Ypres.
